The creators are also celebrating the impending release of a video game based on Blacksad, titled Blacksad: Under the Skin, which will be released by Pendulo Studios and Microids in November. Creators Canales and Guarnido will both be in attendance at NYCC, with signings scheduled for Thursday and Friday in the Dark Horse booth. The 2020 release of Blacksad: The Complete Stories will coincide with the 20th anniversary of the title’s original publication in France. The series follows a private detective, John Blacksad, who also happens to be an anthropomorphic cat. Included stories will come from three different Blacksad series, Blacksad, Blacksad: A Silent Hell, and Blacksad: Amarillo. The 280-page Blacksad: The Complete Stories softcover will feature material never before available in English. Ahead of next weekend’s New York Comic-Con, Dark Horse Comics has announced a collection of five complete Blacksad stories by Juan Díaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido.
